Just transition for and from peoples

JUST TRANSITION FOR AND FROM PEOPLES – Just transition is a concept constantly changing and genrating argument since its origin in unionism to this date. Numerous multilateral organisations have begun to employ it in a demagogic fashion, which hides false solutions or justifies the permanence of a development model leading to an unstoppable ecological collapse. This transition must not be confused with ‘the right to development’ or justified to avoid a profound transformation of a society and its economy.

From a climate justice view, a just transition must focus its attention on the discussion over, protection of and justice for the environment and communities and nations historically affected by violent politics of extractivist development. Just transition is the path to climb towards a profound systemic change for and from peoples and Nature.
